On August 4th, 2023, in the first event of a new partnership between Sunshine For All Foundation and Student Corps Lexington Minutemen Chapter, the two organizations gathered in the Lexington Depot Square (Emery Park) to fundraise to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). With a dozen volunteers from across America rallying behind this cause, they spread out across Lexington and employed various strategies, such as door-to-door fundraising. In just three hours, the group collected over $600 in donations from generous patrons. The money will go towards supplies, games, and gift-cards for RMHC guests to accommodate their stay and provide them with a “home away from home”.

Good health starts with good food. However, nutritious and readily available meals may not be a comfort that is shared by everyone in the world. Hunger crises in Sudan and Haiti are impacting millions of humans, but the United Nations has worked towards a solution:

The United Nations World Food Program (UN WFP) has been on the frontlines of the world’s worst hunger crises, fighting hunger and famine since 1962. Right now, we’re taking on our largest scale-up ever, providing lifesaving meals to 160 million of the world’s most vulnerable people in more than 120 countries and territories this year.United Nations World Food Program (WFP)

So far, SFAF has raised over $1,400 towards UN WFP, supplying over 20 families with a months’ worth of food. Please join our cause!
